300 Pounds of Prescription Drugs Collected at PSP Event

State Police officials say last weekend’s Drug Take Back Day was a huge success.
The agency says more than 300 pounds of prescription drugs and narcotics were collected in Blair County alone. The national event held April 27th is designed to allow residents to properly dispose of their prescription drugs. Troopers in Bedford County collected 75 pounds of pills while 55 pounds of prescriptions were disposed of in Huntingdon County.
Federal Drug Enforcement Agency officials said Thursday that more than 742,000 pounds of prescription drugs were collected across the country, an increase of 50-percent from 2012.
