AAA: Regional Travel to Increase for Labor Day

More than 4.7 million people from the Mid-Atlantic states are expected to travel 50 miles or more this holiday weekend.
AAA says that that’s an increase of 4.2-percent over last year. Eighty-four percent of those going out of town will travel by car, while just over 8-percent will be flying to their destinations.
The agency says it will also cost you more for a gallon of gas. Ongoing tensions in the Middle East, especially in Syria, and an overall increase in demand has driven prices up over the past few days.
AAA recommends traveling at off-peak hours or on less busy days to avoid wasting gas in traffic.
