Administrative, professional and other non-union employees of the Altoona Area School District will be getting a pay increase next year.
School Board directors approved an average 2-percent increase for the ACT 93 workers. Board president Ryan Beers says some staff will get higher increases than others.
Board members say the increases are fair because unionized workers are receiving pay bumps after taking a salary freeze last year. Beers says the move actually saves money because the 2012-13 budget allowed for 2.5-percent salary increases for all non-unionized staff.
