Allegheny Homeowners Getting New County Tax Bills

If you live in Allegheny Township keep an eye on your mailbox for an amended Blair County property tax bill.

Chief Tax Assessor Mike Baldner told Blair County Commissioners on Tuesday that more than 30 home owners have complained about incorrect tax assessments.

Baldner says in one incident a homeowner received a bill for $11,000 while another opened theirs to find out they owed just $1.18. MailPro – the county’s contracted printer and distributor – has resent new tax bills to 683 property owners.

In total, the county has mailed more than 62,700 tax statements accounting for more than $22.9-million in property tax revenue.
