Altoona Mayor To Open Office For Act 47 Discussions

Altoona Mayor Bill Schirf will temporarily open up an office to make himself available to city residents with questions about ACT 47.

The plan to help the distressed city will be made public on November 13th, with a mandatory hearing on the plan scheduled for November 28th.  During that time Mayor Schirf will have a conference room reserved on the third floor of city hall to meet with the public.

Councilman Mark Geis found it amusing last night when council was asked whose idea it was to have the Mayor set up the office time.

The Mayor didn’t seem to care for Councilman Geis’ attitude about the issue.

As it stands, starting November 13 the Mayor will be available to the public from 9am to 4 pm at the temporary office.
