Attorney's for Embattled Former AASD Superintendent Unhappy With State Senator
The controversy involving former Altoona Area School District Superintendent Dr Dennis Murray continues to twist and turn its way through the summer.
Now attorneys for Murray are “crying foul” after an appearance by state Senator John Eichelberger during Monday’s visit to Altoona by Auditor General Eugene DePasquale when the audit results were revealed.
DePasquale said the Altoona Area School District violated Pennsylvania School Code when the now retired Murray handed out raises improperly.
Senator Eichelberger has gone on record as saying he thought the results clearly showed that Murray had breached Pennsylvania law with his actions. Murray’s lawyers had previously said they were confident that the Auditor General’s report would show their client had done nothing wrong and with that not being the case, they are claiming the report may have been influenced by Eichelberger.
The senator says those claims are inaccurate and are insulting to the Auditor General.
