The chief of Blair County’s Children and Youth Services department will leave her post early next month.
Salary board members voted Monday to re-create the position currently held by MaryAnn Burger, whose last day is July 3rd. Burger has been with Blair County since September of 2000. Her departure comes within two weeks of the dismissal of a 35-year case manager.
Commissioner Ted Beam says the county will immediately look for Burger’s replacement.
Beam says its one of the county’s most difficult roles.
Burger wasn’t immediately available for comment – but Beam says she’s leaving to pursue new interests outside of county government.
