A local contractor has been chosen for Blair County’s new security upgrade.
Bettwy Electric in Newry will install 30 security cameras at the courthouse in Hollidaysburg. That’s in addition to the ten security cameras already in place. The $60,000 to $100,000 project is being paid for through a bond issued to the county for capital improvement projects.
Commissioner Terry Tomassetti says it’s an upgrade that’s long overdue.
A total of 40 cameras will now monitor the complex. They new system will be operated and monitored by the sheriff’s department.
