Blair Housing Agencies to Receive 25% Cut in Funding
Local human services agencies that provide housing assistance to those who are in need will experience a 25-percent cut in county funding this year.
Commissioner Diane Meling said Tuesday that it’s an ongoing trend – as the federal and state dollars that pass through the county continue to shrink.
The current proposal under consideration by the board will award $6000 to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Blair County. Family Services is set to receive nearly $62,000 and Child Advocates of Blair County will get $10,500.
