Blair Looking to Consolidate Property Data Among Agencies
Blair County officials want to consolidate all property data into one system.
The Commissioners on Tuesday discussed hiring a company to analyze the programs currently being used at the 911 Center and the county’s assessment office to see how information can be shared.
Commissioner Diane Meling says the main goal is to make Geographic Information Systems and property data available online.
Meling says other county departments would also benefit from the move.
On-Site consultant fees for Sidwell, a company that specializes in data-sharing, would cost several thousand dollars. The company would compile a report and the commissioners would then have to decide whether or not to move forward with the data consolidation project.
