The Blair County Commissioners say they are moving forward with plans to establish a day reporting center within the City of Altoona.
 
The center would be located in the now closed office of former District Judge Joe Moran on 9^th Avenue. County leaders on Tuesday authorized spending $700 for the appraisal of a 120x125 parcel located next door to allow for the building to be expanded.
 
Commissioner Terry Tomassetti says the county is merely planning for its future – and making adult probation and parole services more accessible.
 

 
County officials say a large number of those on probation or parole supervision live in the city. The project would be financed and paid for by the costs and fine monies collected from those who are under the courts supervision.
