Blair Prepares to Transfer Buckhorn Property to IRC
Blair County officials have begun the process of transferring their Buckhorn composting facility on Wopsy Mountain to the county’s Inter-municipal Relations Committee.
Commissioner Diane Meling says the county has hired Keller Engineers to help them through the process. She says 22 acres will be turned over to the IRC.
Meling says there will be no money involved in the transfer.
Funding streams for the Solid Waste Department are expected to be exhausted by the end of the year.
