Blair Reviews Bids for Day Reporting Center

The Blair County Commissioners have begun reviewing construction bids for a new day reporting center in Altoona.
County leaders accepted the proposals at their meeting on Tuesday. Ventura Construction submitted the lowest bid at $367-thousand for the general construction of the facility addition.
The county’s adult parole and probation department want to use the former Moran Building at 705 8th Avenue as the host site. Commissioner Diane Meling says she’s hopeful to keep the project on budget.
The county has 30 days to accept the final bids – but that could happen by next week. The county hopes to break ground on the addition by the end of the year.
