Blair to Implement Refundable Deposit for Valley View Park

Blair County will impose a $25 deposit for anyone wishing to rent a pavilion at Valley View Park.

Commissioner Ted Beam says that’s because those using the pavilion have been leaving trash behind. The county didn’t place any trash bins at the park in hopes that those using the facility would take their rubbish with them.

Beam says renters will be refunded if the trash is emptied and no problems are reported.

The county will place trash cans around the pavilion. The commissioners say they have to finalize the system of how the money will be collected before the deposit fee is charged.
