Bridge Rehabilitation Work for Local Bridges Begins
Work begins today on a two year bridge rehabilitation contract that will rehabilitate six local bridges and remove a seventh across Blair County.
The first two bridges to be worked on at Tippy Hill Road over South Poplar Run in Greenfield Township and at River Road over the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River in Frankstown Township. Both roadways will be under a detour while work is taking place.
Work on the other five bridges will take place during the 2014 construction season. Those bridges are; Mill Road over Blair Gap Run in Allegheny Township, Sugar Run Bridge over Sugar Run also in Allegheny Township (this bridge will be removed not rehabilitated), Hunter Road) over Bells Gap Run in Antis Township, Mill Run Road over Dry Run in Blair Township and West Loop Road over Old Town Run in Frankstown Township.
All work on this $982,599 project will be completed by September 2014.
