Charges Dropped In Martinsburg Arson Case

Charges have been dismissed against two men accused of burning down a business in Martinsburg.

On Thursday charges were dropped against 25 year old Wade Rhodes and 23 year old Mason Fornwalt.  They had been accused of arson in the 2007 fire that destroyed the Rhodes family's meat market.

Magisterial District Judge Craig Ormsby cited an inability by investigators to officially call the fire arson as the reason for dismissal.

Rhodes remains in jail however, facing similar charges for a series of alleged arsons in Bedford County.

The DA’s office plans to continue their investigation into the fire.
