Fraternal Order of Police Mountain City Lodge #8 will have a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser 4 to 7pm Saturday may 25th at Father Kelly Hall, 2301 5th Street and 25th Avenue in Altoona. Dinner includes meatballs, bread, salad, dessert and beverages.  Take-outs are available.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and tickets are available in advance from any Altoona or Logan Township Police Officer or at the door

The Pennsylvania Military Museum’s Annual World War II Living History Weekend is May 25th and 26th at the Museum on business Route 322 in Boalsburg, east of State College. There’ll be re-enactors, encampments, equipment displays, plus a 1940’s-style canteen show Saturday afternoon at 3. (please bring your own seating for the show).  All events are free; a donation for the museum is requested. For information call 466-6263
Among the Memorial Day Parades in our area Monday morning the 27th:
 
The Blair County War Veterans Council will honor County MIA & KIA.  The parade moves at 10am over the 17th Street bridge, down 12th Avenue, 11th Street to 11th Avenue, and a ceremony adding a plaque at Robert E Laws Plaza the honor Blair County’s Missing In Action and those Killed in Action. VFW Fort Apache will sponsor Juniata’s parade, moving out at 9:30 from North 8th Street and Fourth Avenue featuring 20 divisions including the Shriners.  For information call 381-6664
 
And Hollidaysburg’s parade is sponsored by the American Legion, and starts with the Adam Holliday Chapter of the D.A.R.’s  wreath ceremony at bridge at Allegheny Street and North Juniata Street, with the parade through the borough to The Diamond. For information call 695-9913

Our Lady of Loretto Community Hall will host their May Days Memorial Day Weekend Fundraiser 4 to 8pm Saturday and 11am to 4pm Sunday May 25th and 26th.  The band Klassic country plays Saturday 5 to 8pm; There’ll be a Chicken Dinner starting 11 Sunday morning benefiting Tomorrow’s Hope, a shelter for homeless veterans.  For information log onto www.basilica-loretto.org
Miss Teen Pennsylvania is Ashlee Fagans from Blair County,  There’ll be a fundraiser to support her pageant trip Thursday May 30th at the Altoona Friendy’s on Plank Road.  They’ll contribute 10% of sales between 4 and 10pm.  For information call 949-6368
 The Hollidaysburg Community Band will give a Free Memorial Day Concert 7pm Monday May 27th at Canal Basin Park in Hollidaysburg.  Bring your own blanket or lawn chair. Rain location is the First United Methodist Church on Allegheny Street
