Concerns Raised Over Inclusion of Land in Nursing Home Sale

Concerns continue about Blair County leaders proposed sale of Valley View Nursing Home.

Commissioner Terry Tomassetti says a number of residents attended Tuesday’s commissioner’s meeting to express their displeasure about the inclusion of eight acres on the property currently known as the Valley View Soccer Fields.

The acreage is currently under lease to a local chapter of the American Youth Soccer Organization. Tomassetti says there is a possibility something could be worked out.

Tomassetti says he “believes the broker has already received around 35 inquiries” in regards to the sale and says he’s been told “interest in the property has been very high.”

The commissioners are looking to sell the property due to projected costs associated with the future operation of the home.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
