The D.U.I. Task Force conducted a D.U.I. CHECKPOINT on Friday from 10:00PM to 2:00AM in Hollidaysburg.
This Task Force event resulted in: 441 Motorists were processed through the Checkpoint; 1 motorist was arrested for Impaired Driving; 54 Citations or Warnings were issued for violations (including but not limited to) Classes of License, Expired Registration or Inspection, Equipment Violations, and Failure to Wear Seatbelts.
In addition, a juvenile was arrested by a perimeter patrol for Misdemeanor Vandalism to a vehicle at a business along Park Avenue.
Officials say the DUI Task Force is committed to reducing the number of alcohol related accidents, injuries, and deaths in Blair County. Methods used to achieve that goal are: EDUCATION of the public regarding the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code and DUI laws; DETERRENCE of motorists from driving after consuming alcohol; and APPREHENSION of those who violate the laws of the Commonwealth.
