Eight Charged In Alcohol Related Cheerleader's Fall

Eight Penn State University students have been charged with alcohol-related crimes in connection to the October 2012 fall that injured a Penn State Cheerleader.

According to State College police, 21 year old Tempest S. Hourston, 21 year old Megan E. Markovitz, 21 year old Adaire B. Robinson, 20 year old Alexandra M. Hipple, 20 year old Brooke A. Piccione, 19 year old Alyssa A. Duffy, 19 year old Julie Hannan, and 19 year old Madeline C. Miller, have been charged with furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor, which is a misdemeanor, and related offenses.

The charges are the result of an investigation initiated after 19-year-old Paige Raque was seriously injured after falling from a fifth-floor apartment window at Calder Commons on East Calder Way. Investigators said they determined the fall from inside Apartment 507 was accidental.

The investigation identified eight Penn State students who allegedly furnished alcoholic beverages to minors who were attending the party on October 13, of last year.
