A former Altoona Area School District teacher and principal is in lone to become the district’s next leader. School board members will vote on February 19^th to hire Tom Otto as superintendent.
 
A proposed 4-year contract will pay Otto $141,000 a year. A search committee made the selection on Saturday while reviewing final candidates for the job. Otto currently serves as superintendent of the Clearfield School District – a position he’s held since 2011.  
 
Current Superintendent Dr. Dennis Murray will end his 29-year tenure on June 30^th. He announced his retirement last summer.
