Gallitzin Township Employee Accused of Stealing Thousands of Dollars from Township
A Gallitzin Township employee is accused of stealing thousands of dollars.
State police say that 75 year old Leonard Cuomo of 245 Amsbury Road allegedly embezzled over $114,000 from Gallitzin Township over a seven year period.
Cuomo allegedly used the money he stole to give thousands of dollars to his son and to pay for health insurance.
An investigation into the matter revealed that Cuomo allegedly stole the money from 2004 through 2011 by writing unauthorized checks to himself and claiming the money was used for office supplies or other work related expenses.
The son, Christopher Cuomo faces charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
