If you’re looking to apply for a gun permit in Blair County, be advised that the process is changing starting today (1/24).
The Blair County Sheriff’s Office wants all prospective gun buyers to know that it will no longer be a one day process for a permit.
All applicants will be asked to submit applications for approval. Once approved, applicants will be contacted by a representative from the Sheriff’s office to return and complete the permit process. When returned, a check or money order for payment will need to be included. Cash will not be accepted.
The PICS system is overwhelmed by the amount of applications being processed both in Blair County and counties throughout the Commonwealth. Applications may be obtained in person or online at www.blairco.org.
