High Winds and Heavy Rains Overnight have Caused Road Closings

High winds overnight, coupled with heavy rains have caused a number of roads to be closed for downed power lines and flooding throughout the area.

In Bedford County, Route 326 (Chaneysville Road) is closed from the intersection of Route 3007 (Black Valley Road) to the Maryland State Line because of a downed utility line.

In Huntingdon County, Route 1017 (Martins Gap Road) is closed from the intersection of Geisler Run Road to the intersection of Standing Stone Road both in Miller Township because of flooding.

In Blair County, Route 2022 (Juniata Valley Road) is closed from the intersection of Route 22 (William Penn Highway) to the intersection of Swinging Bridge Road, both in Frankstown Township for flooding.

Motorists are reminded to never drive across a flooded roadway and if you come across a fallen power line, stay in your vehicle and call 911. Never try to move a power line yourself.

Motorists can check road conditions on more than 2,900 miles of state roads by calling 511 or visiting www.511PA.com.
