Legislators Approve Measure Aimed at Easing Emission Requirements

State legislators have approved a new measure that may ease emission inspection requirements.

The State House and Senate have approved Senate Bill 1532 that removes the need for new cars to have safety inspections for the first two years as well as emission inspections for the first 10 years.

Currently emission testing is law in 25 counties including Blair County.

The Environmental Protection Agency must still approve the new measure before it can be signed into law.
