Local Attorney Files Notice In Franciscan Sex Abuse Cases
A local attorney has filed notice of pending civil lawsuits in Blair County court related to alleged sexual abuse by the late Franciscan Brother Stephen Baker.
The action came Monday and was on behalf of three former male students of Bishop McCort Catholic High School.
Defendants in the civil suit are the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular; St. Bernardine Monastery; the Very Rev. Robert D'Aversa of Mount Dora, Fla., who was in charge of the monastery when Baker was in the area; the Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown; Bishop McCort Catholic High School; and retired Diocesean Bishop Joseph Adamec.
I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
