A line of severe thunderstorms moved across the region Thursday, wreaking havoc and leaving hundreds of people in the dark.
Blair County’s 911 Center logged more than 40 calls for downed trees and power lines after the thunderstorms began to hammer the region around 5:00PM. Several roads were closed for a short period of time. Penelec reported more than 500 customers were left without power – mostly in the northern part of county around Tyrone.
Penelec spokeswoman Beverly Green says the utility company was ready to deal with the storm.
Crews worked throughout the night to get power restored.
Several nearby counties were hit the hardest. More than 20,000 people lost power in Cambria, Indiana and Clearfield Counties.
I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
