John McGinnis defeated Democratic challenger Richard Flarend on Tuesday, capturing 55-percent of the vote. McGinnis thanked his supporters who backed his message calling for reform and fiscal responsibility in state government.
McGinnis plans to be an outsider in Harrisburg. Flarend – a political newcomer – says he was happy with the challenge his campaign put forward.
McGinnis will replace longtime representative Richard Geist, whom he unseated to secure the Republican nomination in May.
