McGinnis to Testify at House State Government Committee Hearing on Pension Reform
State Rep. John McGinnis will testify during today’s public hearing conducted by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives State Government Committee focusing on several different proposals to address the Commonwealth’s multi-billion dollar public pension funding crisis.
McGinnis is the author of House Bill 1471, which would require an accurate annual report of assets and liabilities from the State Employees’ Retirement System and Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System in order to have an honest assessment of their under-funding problem.
In addition to McGinnis, Charles Zogby, Commonwealth Secretary of the Budget and Michael Crossey; president, Pennsylvania State Education Association are also scheduled to testify.
The hearing is set for 9:00 this morning in Harrisburg.
