No Cause Determined Yet In Altoona Hotel Fire

Tuesday’s early morning blaze that destroyed the 110-year-old Altoona Hotel remains under investigation.

The fire that was called in around 2AM had to be fought in extreme cold with wind chills of minus 10 degrees.

Deputy Fire Chief Mike Tofano tells WRTA News that the building is pretty much a total loss.

Tofano estimates the damage cost to be at least $100,000.

Altoona Hotel owners Bjorn and Lisa Reed have plans to rebuild but not necessarily at the same location.
