There will be no jail time for the young man who caused the death of an Altoona teenager last month.
 
Involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault charges were announced late last week against the now 18 year old man who was involved in the shooting death of 16 year old Jesse McElhinney. He will be charged as a juvenile.
 
The family of the victim had asked for leniency in the case.
 
According to Altoona police, McElhinney was killed on December 26^th when a handgun the teens were playing with discharged.  McElhinney’s friend had brought the gun to the home.
