Board members unanimously voted to appoint Otto to the top position at their meeting Tuesday night. He’ll be paid an annual salary of $141,000.
Board president Ryan Beers says Otto’s hiring brings to an end an extensive search that started months ago.
Otto will leave his current job as superintendent of the Clearfield School District at the end of June. That’s when current Altoona superintendent Dr. Dennis Murray is set to retire.
