The $300,000 Gateway Park this writer christened the Carbon Monoxide Park was dedicated in October. Now, two months later the side walk is torn up. The City of Altoona is described by one city council member as a financially sinking ship and heading toward "distress city designation" but, still, they were able to find money to build the bifurcated hangout. City Manager and potty mouth, Joe Weakland, who spent much of his career in city planning apparently forgot to plan this out. So taxpayer money that paid for the formerly new side walk around the noisy park is now paying to tear it up and replace it with a "newerest" sidewalk.
As city council, they can hardly wait for another ribbon cutting ceremeony.
Out with the new, in with the "newerest."
I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
