Police Departments Receive Battering Rams

Six southern Blair County police departments now have two new battering rams to help them fight crime.
The 50-pound solid devices are used to help officers make a quick entry into a locked structure. The devices keep police from using a shoulder or foot when they are forced to kick-in a door.
Officials say that previously, the closest battering rams to their departments were located in Logan Township and the City of Altoona.
The new equipment was donated to the departments by the family of Roaring Spring Police Chief Milton Fields.
