Police Probe Threats At Pa. House Candidate's Home

An investigation is underway into threatening letters found at the home of a State House candidate.

Police in Cambria County say the letters were apparently left Sunday night at the Richland Township home of Sherry Stalley.

Detective Thomas Keirn says barn doors on the property were also opened, releasing her animals into a fenced area.

Police said one of the letters told her to drop out of the race, saying "a woman's place is at home and not trying to be in politics."

Stalley, a Republican, is running against Johnstown Democrat Bryan Barbin for the 71st District seat.

Barbin said he was shocked to hear about the action and hoped those responsible would be found and prosecuted.
