The deadline for property tax assessment appeals in Blair County is Tuesday.
 
The usual first day of September deadline has been extended because of the Labor Day weekend. That means appeals presented at the County Tax Assessment office will be accepted on Tuesday.  However, if the appeal is mailed it must be postmarked September 1st.
 
All property owners who wish to file appeals will have to pay a fee and will be asked to offer up evidence at a hearing, usually in the form of an appraisal.
