Public Input Gathered At Government Study Commission Hearing
Last night a public hearing was held in Altoona to give the Government Study Commission a chance to get feedback on local government from private citizens, business leaders and organization officials in the city.
Judging from the meeting, a switch to a Home Rule style of government is the popular choice. Those addressing the panel pointed to Home Rule as the city’s best way of getting out of the “distressed” status.
Before coming to a final in December, the commission will hold at least one more public hearing.
