McGinnis was introduced by former County Commissioner Donna Gority who said that although the two of them had often come down on opposite sides of political issues, as a citizen of Blair County, she was looking forward to working with the newly elected representative of the 79th district.
McGinnis told WRTA News that the first order of business is the state budget.
The event held at 1331 12th Avenue in Altoona was well attended, filling the lobby of the former Gables building with local political and business leaders, campaign supporters, and constituents.
An open house will be held today and tomorrow 10am to 2pm each day, to provide an opportunity to meet McGinnis and learn about the services available through his office.
