School District Attorney Interviews Murray in Pay Raise Investigation

We have an update on the story concerning the investigation into possible improper pay raises at the Altoona Area School District.

The issue came to light during a school board meeting earlier this year at which board President Ryan Beers revealed he found evidence that pointed to the questionable raises. Beers provided documentation of at least seven cases from 2007 to 2010. The non-board authorized raises ranged from several hundred dollars to in one case, $10,000 for a Confidential Secretary. Beers says the trail of information seems to lead back to the Superintendent’s office.

An investigation by school district attorney Dave Andrews was initiated.

Superintendent Murray has been mum on the matter for the most part. Now WRTA News has learned that Attorney Andrews did conduct an interview with Murray on Thursday.  We’re told the next step will be Andrews reporting back to the board on what was said in that meeting.

WRTA News will continue to monitor this story and bring you the latest information as it becomes available.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
