On Monday night the Spring Cove school board okayed a budget that includes a 2.49-mil property tax increase.
 
The nearly $22.5 million budget passed by a vote of 7-2. A budget shortfall is being blamed on a state funding gap.
 
School officials say the new budget will allow for infrastructure overhauls.
