Things Returning to Normal In Sandy’s Wake

Penelec officials say that there are now only small pockets of customers in Blair County without electricity in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Now that things have settled down significantly, all four American Red Cross emergency shelters established across the region have been closed.

In Bedford County about 1,500 electric customers were still without power late Thursday. The lights should go back on for all Bedford County customers by Saturday.

According to Blair County Emergency Management Agency Director Dan Boyles, 175 property owners reported storm-related damage.
