Third Local Bridge Rehabilitation Begins in Seven Bridge Contract
PennDOT has announced that work will begin Tuesday on a third bridge of a seven bridge contract across Blair County.
A two mile detour will be in place tomorrow for Hunter Road over Bells Gap Run in Antis Township. The detour will follow Route 865, Bellwood Road and Reightown Road. The detour is expected to be in place until September 30.
Work on the other four bridges will take place during the 2014 construction season. Those bridges are Mill Road over Blair Gap Run in Allegheny Township, Sugar Run Bridge over Sugar Run also in Allegheny Township (this bridge will be removed not rehabilitated), Mill Run Road over Dry Run in Blair Township and West Loop Road over Old Town Run in Frankstown Township.
Work has already begun on Tippy Hill Road over South Poplar Run in Greenfield Township and River Road over the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River in Frankstown Township.
All work on this $982,599 project will be completed by September 2014.
