Valley View Nursing Home ended 2011 in the black for the second year in a row.
Blair County’s 2011 financial audit shows the home had an operating surplus of $315,000. County leaders say the money will be applied to the $3.5-million the home owes the county from expenses it covered over the past decade.
Commissioner Terry Tomassetti says overall he’s satisfied with the audit’s findings. He says Valley View’s managers and the rest of the county’s administrative personnel worked hard to control expenses.
Tomassetti says the audit still shows that the county owes $4-million in payments to its pension fund.
