Work to Begin on the Route 453 Sink Run Culvert in Tyrone
Work begins today on the Route 453 Sink Run Culvert in Tyrone Borough, Blair County.
A portion of the existing stone masonry arch culvert will be replaced with a new reinforced concrete box. The arch is located at the intersection of W. 14th Street and Logan Avenue in Tyrone Borough and carries Route 453 over Sink Run.
Additional work that will take place during this project consists of the demolition of a two story structure, sewer and electrical relocation as well as signal upgrades at the intersections of W. 14th Street and Logan Avenue and W. 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, new sidewalks and ADA ramps, new inlet boxes and drainage improvement upgrades and a bituminous overlay.
During construction all south bound traffic will follow a detour from Route 453 to Lincoln Ave. to 13th Street and back to Route 453. North bound traffic will continue through the construction zone with minimal impact.
All work on this $1.3 million project will be completed by the end of October
