Mainline Pharmacy has announced they will be closing 9 of their 11 locations. In a Facebook post over the weekend, the company noted that while they had filled more prescriptions last year than at any other time, it’s receiving less reimbursements by Pharmacy Benefit Managers than what it costs the pharmacy to purchase medications wholesale. Those locations that are closing include the pharmacy on Bellemeade Avenue in Altoona. The other locations that are closing are located in Cresson, Ebensburg, Portage, Nanty Glo and Hastings. Their pharmacies in Harrison City, Davidsville and Blairsville will also close. Reportedly customers’ records will be transferred to the Rite Aid Pharmacy closest to the Mainline Pharmacy location they used.
