Keep Cambria County Beautiful will hold a Spring Appliance & Tire Collection program 8am to 1pm Saturday, May 18th at the Patton Borough Parking Lot, near the Football Field House. The costs are: $12 for Freon containing appliances, free for non-Freon containing appliances. Tires are $1 for off-rim and $2 for on-rim. Call for pricing on larger tires. Fraternal Order of Police Mountain City Lodge #8 will have a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser 4 to 7pm Saturday may 25th at Father Kelly Hall, 2301 5th Street and 25th Avenue in Altoona. Dinner includes meatballs, bread, salad, dessert and beverages.  Take-outs are available.  Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and tickets are available in advance from any Altoona or Logan Township Police Officer or at the door

The Pennsylvania Military Museum’s Annual World War II Living History Weekend is May 25th and 26th at the Museum on business Route 322 in Boalsburg, east of State College. There’ll be re-enactors, encampments, equipment displays, plus a 1940’s-style canteen show Saturday afternoon at 3.
