The Blair County Historical Society and WISE Woman of Blair County are holding a Century of Progress Gala, 3 to 7pm Sunday September 13th at Baker Mansion in Altoona.  It commemorates the first public tour of the mansion 100 years ago, features hor d’oeuvres, drinks and entertainment, plus the opening of the newly-renovated Blue Room.  Tickets are $40, available by calling 942-3916 or on-line at www.blairhistory.org through September 4th

The United States Air Force Band and The Central Blair Recreation and Park Commission present a Free Concert by USAF Airmen of Note Live! 7pm Saturday September 5th at the Altoona Area High School.  Doors open 6:30, tickets will be held until 15 minutes before the show, and are available at the 6th Ward Center, 2101 5th Avenue 9 to 4 Monday through Friday

The Blair County Game, Fish and Forestry Association’s 77th Annual Ox Roast Festival will be Sunday and Labor Day Monday September 6th and 7th.  As part of the 100th anniversary celebration.
