Local farmers from the Blair County Farm Bureau will be collecting food and monetary donations for The Door of Bellwood and the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Altoona 11am to 6pm Tuesday, March 3rd in the parking lot of Bellwood’s Hometown Market
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce and Blair County Commissioners are hosting a forum on Reassessment of Commercial Property 4pm Thursday March 5th at the Blair County Convention Center.  Members of Evaluator Services & Technology and Weiss, Burkhart, Kramer LLC will be available to answers questions.  It’s free, and you don’t need to pre-resister to attend
The Altoona Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestra Teresa Cheung, will perform Homage to Heritage, celebrating the Italian-Americans who helped build Altoona.  The concert is 7pm Saturday March 7th at the Mishler Theatre.  Tickets are $13 to $32, available at the box office or .  A fundraising reception and Silent Auction will follow the concert at the Columns on 12th Avenue – admission is $5
Faith Baptist Café’s Free Community Meal for March will be 11:30 to 1 Saturday the 7th. Menu is stuffed peppers, scalloped potatoes, Cole slaw, roll and dessert.  If you need free transportation, call 944-2894 by 3pm the day before.  The church is at 315 40th Street in Altoona
Northern Cambria Catholic School will have an Indoor Used Book, Yard and Bake Sale 8am to 1pm Saturday March 7th at Saint Nicholas Church Hall, Saint Henry Street in Nicktown
Grace Fellowship Church-Leamersville Campus will have their Annual Indoor Yard Sale and Vendor Fair 9 to 2 Saturday March 7th.  They’ll also have food sales.  The church’s Activity center is on Dunnings Highway/Old 220 between Leighty’s and the East Freedom Walmart
Friends of Canoe Creek State Park will host Mountain Pie Madness 1 to 3pm Sunday March 8th at the park’s Wentz Education Center.  There’ll be a moderate hike, a warm campfire and Mountain Pies.  You’re asked to bring a recipe for a Mountain Pie cookbook the Friends are putting together.  There’ll also be hot chocolate, coffee, hot cider and baked goods for sale
