Burgi’s Low Life Riders 11th Annual Charity Ride will be Sunday August 31st to benefit Brielle Harmon, Lincoln Duvall and Dominick DeVechhis.  Registration starts 10am at Underdog’s and the Wolf Furniture Distribution Center in Bellwood, opening ceremonies are at 11:10 with kickstands up at Noon.  The ride ends at the Brush Mountain Sportsmen’s Club with dinner and live bands.  Cost is $20 per rider.  For information call 937-5804 or log onto the Burgi’s Low Life Riders Facebook page

The Altoona Firefighters Local 299 IAFF will have their annual Boot Drive Friday September 5th at the 7th and 8th street intersections at 6th Avenue.  It benefits The Miracle League of Blair County, which provides a safe field and organized baseball for area children with special needs

Shawnee State Park will present a free natural history program, From the Teeth of Dinosaurs, 7pm Sunday September 7th at the Historic Center at the park’s main office, 132 State Park Road in Schellsburg.  It’s not a program about dinosaurs, but uses their teeth as an introduction to lifestyles and groups of modern animals.  For information call 733-4218
Northern Blair Recreation and the Tyrone Events and Promotions Committee will sponsor a Heroes Day, honoring Police, Firefighters, first-responders and Military Saturday September 13th.  There’ll be a Biathlon at 9am, a two-mile walk at 9:15 plus a Youth Lollipop Race at Reservoir Park.  Race registration is $25, and includes and event t-shirt.  For information, call 742-9500
