A Franklin County woman is planning on giving 9th Congressional District voters another option in this year’s election.
 
51-year old Karen Ramsburg of Mercersburg has announced that she intends to run as an independent candidate in the district held by Republican U.S. Representative Bill Shuster.
 
Ramsburg, who is a nurse, said the most important issues the country is facing right now are the economy, health care, education and the environment.
 
This will be Ramsburg’s first venture into politics.
