Penelec is closing several regional offices and consolidating the work into its Altoona service center.
First Energy spokesman Scott Surgeoner says 72 employees working in Bedford, Huntingdon and Ebensburg will move to Altoona. There will be no job losses associated with the consolidation. Surgeoner says the change allows the Altoona office the flexibility to have utility workers on duty around the clock.
The positions moving to Altoona mostly include line repairmen, meter readers and some support staff. Penelec provides electrical service to more than 600,000 customers in central and Western Pennsylvania.
I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
