Some AASD Board Members Question Effort to Restrict Their Access to Buildings
Some Altoona Area School District board members are questioning the administrations effort to restrict their access to school facilities.
The issue surfaced Monday night’s meeting while board members were discussing changes to district policies and regulations. A motion was introduced that would classify any non-employees as “visitors,” allowing administrators to “control access to classrooms and buildings.” Board members would fall under the visitor’s policy.
The motion was rescinded after several members complained. Director Cheryl Rupp says the administration has it wrong.
School Board President Ryan Beers says currently policy has board members signing in with security – and that should be enough.
Superintendent Dr. Dennis Murray didn’t comment on the policy. Solicitor Dave Andrews will review the language to see if it needs to be revised – and then brought back for a vote.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
