Sheriff's Deputy to Serve as Veteran's Director

A popular Blair County Sheriff’s deputy will move down the hall to serve as the county’s next Director of Veteran’s Affairs.

Tim Teltow is set to begin training for his new position on Monday. He’ll take over for Charlie Cates, who will retire at the end of the month.

Teltow currently manages security operations at the front door of the courthouse complex. As a retired veteran and former homeland security employee, Teltow says he’s learned to navigate the complexities of government.

Commissioner Ted Beam called Teltow the right man for the job.

Teltow was among a poll of both internal and external applicants to apply for the position.
